Sadly, back in 2007 when Chris Benoit was only 40 years he passed away after dealing with many personal issues.

His cause of death was thought to be a heart attack, but it was pulmonary edema.

He did not leave the spotlight altogether since he went into acting after that. You might have even seen him in Nash Bridges and The Expendables. At the moment, it is believed that he has a net worth of $45 million, which is simply incredible.
Michael Francis has used a number of ring names in the past: Cactus Jack, Mankind, Dude Love, and Mick Foley. He left the world of wrestling a little too early for his fans’ liking. Robert Booker Tio Huffman is better known as Booker T. During his time in the ring, he was able to amass a large fan following. Even though he has since retired, this does not change the fact that he has 6 world championships and 21 other titles to his name. He works as a color commentator and promoter. Did you know that he has written two books and made appearances in more than 27 video games?
Fun fact: Triple H stands for Hunter Hearts Helmsley, which is the ring name used by Paul Michel Levesque. After his wrestling days, he tried his hand at acting and business. In 2003, he got hitched to Stephanie McMahon. This allowed him to play certain roles in this industry. He is a businessman and works as the Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative at WWE. Together with his wife, he built a foundation called Connor’s Cure to fight Medulloblastoma and honor a child who died from it.
While he had a great time in the ring, his achievements will forever be tainted by the tragedy that befell the family. Christopher Michael Benoit killed his son and wife in June 2007. Thanks to his strength, he was able to transition into the world of pro wrestling without a hitch. In 2011, he even won the WWE World Heavyweight title. In 2016, he entered the Hall of Fame.
This guy did not appear in the ring, but he did work as the manager of famous wrestlers such as Kane and The Undertaker. There was a time when his weight was out of control. When Paul Bearer weighed 500 pounds, he got gastric bypass surgery to shed off 200 pounds. In 2013, he died of a heart attack.
With his brother and Lita, Jeff Hardy was a member of Team Xtreme. In the past, he brought home a lot of major titles such as the World Heavyweight Championship and WWE Championship. You do not need to be a big wrestling fan to know that Diamond Dalla Page enjoyed a lot of success. He has worked in TNA, WWF, and WCW in the past. Likewise, he also has a couple of titles to his name. Now retired, he is a radio host at DDP and offers a program known as Yoga for Regular Guys.
This wrestler was famous for his painted face, shield, spear, and signature style. Kamala was a “different case” when it comes to the ring. Aside from that, he liked to compete in his bare feet. Sadly, things went downhill for him back in 1992. Since he refused to receive treatment for diabetes, he later lost two legs.
The Russian Bear
Ivan Koloff, famously known as the Russian Bear, inspired fear in his opponents in the past. He bagged the WWF World Heavyweight Championship during his time with WWWF in the ‘60s. After his retirement, he underwent a huge transformation. He trained to be an ordained Minister of the Gospel and wrote two books. In 2017, he passed away at the age of 74.
Nord the Barbarian or the Berzerker was a pro wrestler from the 1980s. Born John Nord, the public got to know him when he joined WCCW. After this, he worked at AWA as well. He often changed his ring name but later used his legal name. In 2002, he retired and worked at a car dealership with his brother.
Jake “The Snake” Roberts
We doubt that wrestling fans would forget about Jake “The Snake” Roberts. He appeared in TNA, WWF, NWA, ECW, and WCW in the past. He liked to bring snakes to his matches, which explains his nickname. His favorite one was Damien the Python. Sadly, his health has been doing badly after he retired.
Rowdy Roddy Piper
Roderick George Toombs, better known as Rowdy Roddy Piper, spent over 30 years in the wrestling scene. He always took on the villain role in his matches. In 2005, he earned his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. He revealed that he had Hodgkin’s lymphoma the following year. In 2015, he died from a cardiac arrest.
Johnny B. Badd was the ring name used by Marc Mero. He earned the nickname after he appeared and competed at TNA and WCW. At the start of his career, he used his real name. After retirement, he also suffered from a number of health issues. He declined treatment and has survived to live the tale!
Queen Debra was a popular pro wrestler at WCW in the ‘90s. She won a number of titles in the past. However, she is nowhere near as popular as her ex-husband, Steve Austin. It is sad to hear that he was arrested for abusing her and beating her up. In 1998, she started going by Debra when she joined WWF.
Big Van Vader
In the past, Big Van Vader competed in WCW, WWF, and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Those who wanted to prove that they are a “good wrestler” had to take on this powerhouse of a man. He had a wonderful career, but his health started to decline after his retirement. In 2016, he died of pneumonia.
After Kevin Nash entered WWE, he started a group called New World Order. He later entered WCW as well. He is now thought to be semi-retired. Despite his age, he still likes to take part in matches every now and then. He has found success as an actor as well! Did you see him in Magic Mike?
The Honky Tonk Man
Wayne Farris used the Honky Tonk Man as his ring name. He is very passionate about wrestling. Did you know that fellow pro wrestler Jerry Lawler was his cousin? Farris participated in many fights during his time in WCW and WWE. Now retired, he is probably most famous for his impersonation of Elvis Presley.
James Snuka was the man who came up with the “Superfly Splash.” Apart from wrestling, he also dipped his toes in acting and found success there. In the ‘80s, his wrestling career reached its peak. It dwindled when he was accused as a suspect in the death of his girlfriend at the time. He denied these claims, but his dementia made it hard to determine if he was guilty or not. He died not long after it was dismissed.
The McMahon family has a long history with WWE. Stephanie McMahon is the fourth generation to compete in the franchise! After a great career in the ring, she decided to quit wrestling to work as a CBO promoter instead. She went on to marry Triple H and has been working as WWE’s creative director.
Simply known by his first name, Rico Constantino is a huge WWE figure. Before that, he appeared in Empire Wrestling Federation. His career following his wrestling retirement he became a prison guard but had to soon retire due to back problems.

Rip Rogers is known for bringing home the NWA Mid-American Heavyweight Championship title, however, he quickly burnt through all the money that came along with it. His old fans were loyal enough to donate to him and help.

Following his career as a professional wrestler, The Hitman, whose real name is Bret Sergeant Hart became an actor and evolved in writing too. He managed to make a difference in the way wrestling is perceived, he also held championships for fifty years. He now features in shows like The Simpsons and also writes a column for the Calgary Sun. He was also diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2016 but is now cancer-free.

Tom Billington was an extremely popular wrestler in the ’90s and soon became a role model and somewhat of a hero to children across the globe. His name as Dynamite Kid, a stage name that served him well. Unfortunately, he had many different health problems which led to his retirement in 1996. In 213, he became a shut-in after suffering an intense stroke. His injuries also followed him through.
Matt Cappotelli owes his fame to WWE Tough Enough. He was super popular and most likely would have taken his career a lot further if it was not for a cancer diagnosis. The former OVW Heavyweight Champion had a brain tumor that was growing at a rapid pace, he underwent a dangerous two-hour operation. Cappotelli passed on in 2018 partly because of this.

Perry Saturn originally referred to as Perry Satullo was in the army as a soldier before he decided to go into pro wrestling. Unfortunately his WWE days ere not long-lived. It is said that he is now bankrupt, homeless, and struggling with addiction to multiple opioids. Saturn also suffers from an array of health issues such as brain injury, headaches, and a balance problem.
Jimmy Wang Yang – $8 Million
Jimmy Wang Yang is one of few wrestlers who not only had a prolonged career but managed to do something with wrestling after his ring fighting days. Not only was he present in WWE and WWF but he also fought in Ring of Honor and WCW. Jimmy Wang Yang went on to teach wrestling which he still does at a wrestling school, many great wrestlers have come out of there. Additionally, he owns a ‘redneck party bus business.’
Harvey Wippleman – Unknown
Harvey Wippleman went by the name Bruno Lauer before his wrestling days. He is one of few that managed to defeat Giant Gonzales and Bully Busick. He went from professional wrestling to managing professional wrestlers. He definitely struggled along the way and fought for his break, he in fact was an inmate previously. After prison, he began his life and found passion in wrestling.
Spike Dudley – $300k
Mathew Hyson, you may know him as Spike Dudley or Brother Runt, never managed to make as much profit as a professional wrestler. He went on to be a financial planner and made plenty in his field. Before this, he worked as a teacher for the third grade and still tries to train pro wrestlers. Hyson has a Bachelor of Arts degree so he can go into a bunch of different things if he wanted to.
Lance Storm – Unknown
Lance Storm was a renowned wrestler as he dominated many titles over the years as a pro wrestler. When he eventually retired he started a school which he named after himself, Storm Wrestling Academy. The school aims at training people that want to get into wrestling and aim at becoming professional wrestlers. He is yet another example of someone who took it further than just starring in the ring.
Saraya-Jade Bevis or as we know her in the ring, Paige is a former professional wrestler. Even though she comes from a wrestling family in England, it seems as though it’s just not what she wanted to continue doing. Paige was part of WWE for roughly 8 years and then announced her retirement in 2018. Since then she has ventured into business, where she launched her own cosmetics company called, Saraya Jade Cosmetics.
Another young professional wrestler who decides to hang up her boots early is 37 years old, Summer Rae. Born Danielle Moinet, she made her wrestling debut back in 2011 but sadly never exactly made a huge impression in the industry. In 2018, she called it quits and decided to pursue her modeling career. We’re not exactly sure if she’ll ever make a comeback, but you never do know what exactly the future holds…
Back in the day when Lance Storm was a professional wrestler he definitely made a great name for himself. Not only did the Canadian native win various titles but during his career, he was best known for his work in WWE. After announcing his retirement from the ring, Storm developed his own academy called Storm Wrestling Academy. They offer professional training to people who want to start a wrestling career. He is also married and has two daughters, Rachel and Rebecca.
Beulah McGillicutty is a retired professional wrestler and is most famous for her appearances in Extreme Championship Wrestling from 1995–1998. Sadly just before her retirement, she suffered a serious neck injury. Today, she is a successful author and is married to Tommy Dreamer who is still within the wrestling industry. They live in New York and have 2 children together.
Hardcore Holly had an impressive career in the WWF and WWE which spanned 16 years. Though his time in the ring he was often feared by many of his opponents and rivals. Today the 58-year-old is an author, he released his autobiography back in 2013 and makes an occasional appearance in the ring. He is also very much into auto racing and loves to travel.
This next wrestler may not be so familiar to everyone, but those who do remember him will for sure recall him and his metal-looking suit. However, since his wrestling days, the 57-year-old decided to pursue his acting career. He also found other ways to occupy his time, one being through his passion to raise awareness for cancer. He now lives in Orlando, Florida.
Dean Simon is better known by the ring name Dean Malenko. The 60-year-old is a retired professional wrestler who had an incredible career performing in the ring. However, despite the fact that he accomplished a lot, he never did become a world champion. In 2010, he suffered a heart attack which forced him to take a break from the wrestling industry. Dean is married and has three children.
Doink The Clown
Doink the Clown is a professional wrestling character who was originally created by Vince McMahon. But it was Matt Osborne who debuted the Doink persona in the World Wrestling Federation in 1992 and Doink the much-loved favorite he is today. Matt Osborne sadly passed away back in 2013 due to a drug overdose coupled with heart problems.
Molly Holly is a semi-retired professional wrestler who is best known for her appearances with WWF and WWE from 2000-2005. Not only was she considered a wrestling legend in the industry but she has also seen quite a lethal person. Although she is occasionally still seen in the ring, for the most part she spends her time at The Academy: School of Professional Wrestling as a head coach. The 43-year-old got married in 2010.
Trevor Murdoch is the ring name this wrestling star used during his career. He was considered one of WWE’s most comical figures ever as he would often grab the microphone and sing for the crowd. Besides that he makes a periodic appearance in the wrestling ring, he mostly keeps busy with his occupation that involves installing fibre optic cables for a heavy equipment company.
72-year-old Richard Fliehr is more commonly known as Ric Flair. He is a professional wrestling manager and a retired wrestler. Flair was a 16-time world champion during his career which spanned over an amazing 40 years. Like many of his colleagues, he numerous TV appearances as well. Sadly, he had to deal with the tragedy of losing his son to a heroin overdose.
Dusty Rhodes may not have spent so much of his time as a full-time wrestler, but he was still an extremely prominent figure in the industry. With that being said, Rhodes was a three-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion. In later years, the wrestler reported that he had suffered from kidney failure. Sadly, he then died at the of 69 but is still very much remembered by so many of his fans.
It’s not so easy to summarize all of Harley Race’s career in just a few sentences. He’s one of six men to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, the NWA Hall of Fame, the WCW Hall of Fame, the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame, and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame. When Race wasn’t in the ring, he was teaching others how to fight and took a lot of pride in what he did. He passed away from lung cancer in 2019.
Ted Dibiase Jr
Ted Dibiase Jr. is a former American professional wrestler who is best known for his time with WWE. He decided to step back from the wrestling industry in 2013 due to family commitments and other business pursuits. As well as spending time with his wife and two kids, he is also an actor. Sources close to Ted also reported that he occasionally serves as a motivating speaker.
Ariane Nicole Andrew is an American professional wrestler, singer, model, and dancer. Andrew is best known for her time in WWE under the ring name Cameron. She was one of the main cast members of the reality television show Total Divas. However, after two months of inactivity, Cameron was released by the WWE in 2016. Today, the 33-year-old is concentrating on both small and big screen projects.
