Even though comedy has evolved and changed since their deaths, the Three Stooges are still remembered with great fondness today. The Hollywood Walk of Fame honored them with a star in 1983. Their work has been immortalized in countless sequels, re-releases, and animated adventures. Even if the guys aren’t here to enjoy it, their legacy will live on in all its hilariousness.

A Fake One
As we’ve already established, Shemp died unexpectedly during the filming of multiple Stooges cartoons. Recycled footage and body double shot from unique perspectives were used to finish the films. The body doubles used in subsequent years to imitate a deceased actor have earned the nickname “fake Shemps.”
