As you are probably aware, Apple cider vinegar (ACV) comes in quite handy in the kitchen! Whether you use it to make other dishes more exciting, in a salad dressing or use a dash in a cake mix, ACV is quite a versatile ingredient. We’re here to tell you that it can also reach beyond cooking, and is helpful in just about every aspect of life. From cleaning the house, to lowering blood sugar levels, apple cider vinegar sure has many surprising benefits and hacks.
Eases Cold Symptoms
The next time you have a cold, apple cider vinegar may just save you! When you’re feeling under the weather, fill a pot with hot water, and add about a spoonful of ACV. Sit in front of the bowl, the steam and scent will clear and unclog a stuffed-up nose. Allergies and sinus infections can also be aided with this trick.
A Natural House Cleaner
Aside from making you feel better, ACV can also be used as a natural house cleaner. Many bathroom and kitchen cleaners are made with harsh chemicals, so switching in a natural fix is always a good alternative. It is safe on most surfaces thanks to the acetic acid, which is the active cleaning agent. Not only will it remove grime and dirt, but it also kills bacteria on a cellular level. Thought that was impressive? When combined with hydrogen peroxide or table salt, apple cider vinegar can kill E. coli and mold. Note: for every cup of ACV used, a gallon of water should be mixed in.
