After completing her studies in education at Austin Community College, Krista Allen continued her education at the University of Texas, where she earned a degree in the field.

After giving some thought to pursuing a profession in education, Allen ultimately decided that she wanted to try her hand at acting and consequently relocated to California. Allen made his debut in the world of entertainment with a major role in the television series Emmanuelle in Space, which aired in 1994. After that, she worked on Days of Our Lives for a total of four years before being offered the role of Jenna Avid on Baywatch.

In the year 2000, Krista Allen became a member of the Baywatch cast and remained there for one year. Allen has been in episodes of shows such as The X-Files, Friends, Smallville, Charmed, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Fast Cars and Superstars: The Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race during her stint as lifeguard Jenna Avid.
