José Solano- Then
Jose Solano joined the Military after graduating from high school and moved away from his birthplace of Englewood, California. When Solano was cast as Manny Gutierrez on Baywatch’s seventh season, he became the first Hispanic to occupy a regular position on the show. This was because he was the first Baywatch cast member to play the character.

The character of Manny was one of the younger members of the Baywatch squad, but he had already demonstrated his value. Mitch Buchannon came to the conclusion that Gutierrez should be added to the team despite the fact that his age did not matter due to the fact that he possessed greater athletic prowess.

José Solano continued to appear on Baywatch up until the year 1999. Because of a potentially fatal injury, the character of Manny Gutierrez, which Jose Solano portrayed on Baywatch, spent a significant chunk of his time on the show confined to a wheelchair.

After leaving Baywatch, Solano went on to pursue a career in acting and also worked in production management. In addition to appearing in Resurrection Blvd., he has also appeared in the Spanish television drama series “Amor en custodia.” YM magazine recognized Solano as one of the “50 Most Beautiful People in the World” and included her in their list.
