J.R. Smith – Jewelry, $48K

As you might have noticed, J.R. Smith is far from being the only basketball player who loves bling but refused to pay for it. In 2014, he got sued by a jewelry store for not covering his $48k bill. He ordered some chains, earrings, and pendants but did not pay for any of the items. What makes this genuinely shocking is that he has an estimated net worth of around $20 million at the moment. It does not make sense for him to not pay when the total bill only came up to around $25k. Strange!

Curt Schilling – Failed Video Game Business, $75 Million

Curt Schilling might be one of the greatest pitchers in history! He is a pretty terrible businessman, however. He started a video game company that has only left him knee-deep in debt. There were allegations that he defrauded the state of Rhode Island of $75 million from his unpaid obligations. In 2012, his company 38 Studios folded and had all of the staff members laid off. In 2016, they came to an agreement that he will only pay $2.5 million instead. We daresay that Curt needs to look for a different and much cheaper hobby as soon as possible!
