Nelson Cruz – Fire Truck, Price Unknown
Baseball player Nelson Cruz purchased a fire truck for his hometown. Isn’t that the loveliest gift you have ever heard? This Dominican-American right fielder once said that his hometown of 245,000 people did not have any ambulances and fire trucks. He decided to give back to the community since he has the means to make a difference. His good deed impressed and inspired the American Medical Response, which ended up donating more ambulances to his hometown. Fascinatingly, the truck the athlete bought was yellow and needed to be painted red. He did not disclose the cost of the truck, however.
Lenny Dykstra – Mansion, $17 Million
In 2012, Lenny Dykstra pleaded guilty to the crime of federal bankruptcy fraud. He was accused of fraud, concealing assets, and money laundering. We daresay that he had it coming! He got sentenced to 3 years in prison for this. Before that, the former center fielder bought an estate valued at $17 million. Previously owned by Wayne Gretzky, he wanted to flip it but owed $13 million on the house in the end. You would have thought that it was only common sense not to buy a house that you cannot afford!
