Boundaries
Nancy, as a teacher, was well informed that there were some lines she couldn’t cross. They had to draw a line between a student’s personal life and the student-teacher relationship. Nancy, on the other hand, was a seasoned professional who understood that if the situation worsened, it could have a psychological impact on the child, possibly resulting in trauma. After speaking with the child, it was clear that even he didn’t fully comprehend the family situation, which contributed to his agitation. The child appeared to be having difficulty comprehending the situation.

A Difficult Choice
She had a moral obligation, to be sure. In an ideal world, she would assist this family, but her primary concern was Camden, a young and vulnerable student in her class. The boy adored his teacher, and he believed that the teacher was the only person who could assist him. Nancy promised the child that she would help him in any way she could, and she meant it. She was placing herself in danger by crossing lines she wasn’t supposed to cross. Regardless, she had to make a difficult decision before agreeing to assist him.
