Meghan’s father made enough money in Hollywood to send his daughter to a prestigious private school. Meghan, on the other hand, did not have the same opulent upbringing as Kate. Meghan was raised primarily by her mother following her parents’ divorce when she was six years old. Meghan supplemented her revenue by teaching calligraphy and bookbinding after college and in between acting roles. She didn’t have the luxury of living in a million-dollar apartment as Kate did.

In photographs, Kate can be seen keeping a distance between herself and the public when she greets people who attend the events. She’s often seen with her purse in front of her, a body language signal that she doesn’t want to shake hands or be hugged. On occasion, she will reach out and shake hands or accept flowers, but not always. This is partly due to royal protocol prohibiting others from touching or photographing the duchess.
