Model Yasmine Petty has an impressive resume that would impress anyone who saw it. She has modeled for Italian Vogue and Louis Vuitton, as well as been on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Prior to entering the spotlight, she worked as a stylist, model scout, creative director, and culinary arts student. Being transgender does not define who she is or what she decides to do with her life. Though she is a transgender rights advocate, Yasmine is also an example of someone enjoying their life freely despite what others may think.

Jenna Talackova, who was born in Vancouver, knew what she wanted from a young age, and her parents supported her from the start. She began her transition at the age of 14 and had finished her gender reassignment surgery by the age of 19. In 2012, she applied for the Miss Universe pageant after finally feeling comfortable in her own self. Despite finishing in the top 70, the organizers of the competition refused to allow her to compete since she was born as a male. Most people would have given up, but Jenna fought for her rights and was eventually allowed to compete. She advanced all the way to the top 12 and was crowned Miss Congeniality. Because of her efforts for equality, she was named co-grand marshal of the 2012 Vancouver Pride Parade.
