Ines Rau, a French model, made history by being the first openly transgender model to appear in Playboy magazine. In fact, she was named November 2017 Playmate of the Month. In 2013, she also had a magazine feature with Tyson Beckford in OOB to commemorate her coming out. In the modeling profession, Rau has pushed numerous social barriers. Today, Rau uses her voice and celebrity to break down barriers and make room in the modeling and acting sectors for other trans people who come after her.

Janet Mock grew up in Hawaii and became a woman when she was a teenager. She published an autobiography about her life in 2014. Mock was the first trans woman of color recruited as a writer for the television show Pose, and she has subsequently directed one of the episodes. Janet’s career and activist activity are just getting started. She is a phenomenal writer, producer, and director. And it’s evident that she has a lot more to say and do for the transgender community. We’re looking forward to seeing her succeed.
