It can be a very stressful situation. Nobody likes being crammed into a small space with little room to move around. Because the flight was overbooked, there was no room for her to stretch her legs or get comfortable. This was bad enough as it was, but she could also sense someone looking at her. Jessica was no stranger to such situations. It was most likely due to a lack of women in the military. People were frequently taken aback when they saw a woman in uniform. She realized this was the same reason the stranger had been staring at her so intently. She was, however, mistaken about that.
