This bird is quite bizarre at first glance. Its feathery crest obscures the beak and makes it look mouthless. Hailing from the humid forests of South America, they use rocky caves or boulders for breeding. They also breed using a lek system in which the males team up, each with his own “court.” When there are female visitors, the males show off their plumage in the hopes that they will get picked as the mate.
