6. Jimmy John’s
Jimmy John’s, also known as JJ’s, is another fast-food chain with a catchy slogan, theirs being: “Freaky Fast, Freaky Fresh”. The gourmet sandwich shop made all employees sign a non-compete clause in 2016, barring staff from working at any other deli until 2 years after finishing at JJ’s. A few states took the chain to court, and JJ’s was in turn forced to remove the clause altogether.
But that isn’t all. JJ’s is responsible for a number of food poisoning outbreaks. Diners got sick with salmonella or E.Coli after eating JJ’s sprouts in 2008, 2009 and 2010. In 2013, 100 customers in Kansas also got sick after eating JJ’s food. Again in 2018, the chain was slammed when yet another episode of food poisoning occurred.

5. Sbarro
Neil Irwin from The New York Times once said, “You eat Sbarro not because you want Sbarro, but because it is the food that is available at the moment you want some food.” Most diners agree with him since only 34% come back for more.
The pizza chain sees a fall in returning customers mainly because of the nasty food. This is yet another joint that is often located in malls, and with a dying location, comes decreased business. On top of it all, people enjoy custom-made pizza from Blaze Pizza instead. Sbarro just isn’t at its A-game anymore.
