This piqued Abby’s interest, prompting her to look into the topic more. Her father had lied to her mother in addition to lying to her. She eventually discovered that her father had lied to both of them. She slipped out of her room in the middle of the night and made her way to the room where her parents were sleeping, where she was surprised to find her mother still there.

She had learned from her past mistake, so she made an effort to prevent repeating it by making sure the door did not close behind her this time. There was little proof that she had done any of those things after successfully avoiding detection and then softly closing the door behind her.
