Party Monster (2003)
James St. James’ autobiographical novel titled, “Disco Bloodbath” is the basis of Party Monster. The movie stars Macaulay Culkin as Michael Alig. When Alig was a teenager, he ran away from home and got on a bus bound for New York City so he could leave his boring life behind. In the city, he met James St. James (portrayed by Seth Green) and Peter Gatien (portrayed by Dylan McDermott). The two were quite influential in the club scene. Together with Alig, they created a clubbing empire. Party Monster had a box office gross of $742,898.
My Left Foot (1989)
My Left Foot is based on the true story of Christy Brown, who was spastic quadriplegic due to being born with severe cerebral palsy. He was basically paralyzed, but he could control his left foot. Through his mother’s help, he went on to become a painter, poet, and author, using only his left foot to make masterpieces. The screenplay was adapted from the autobiography of Brown and Jim Sheridan directed the film. Daniel Day Lewis won an Oscar for Best Actor for his portrayal of Christy Brown.
