Beyond the Sea’s script and songs were written by Kevin Spacey. He also directed it and played Bobby Darin, the subject of the movie. As a child, Darin struggled with heart disease, so he knew he was on borrowed time. He decided to make the most of his time on earth and make it count. The film covers his rise to fame. Spacey portrayed well Darin’s characteristic of not accepting “no” for an answer. The movie had a box office gross of $8.4 million and received a Golden Globe nomination.

Will Smith stars in this tearjerker as Chris Gardner. Directed by Gabriele Muccino, The Pursuit of Happyness depicts how Gardner struggles to make a better life for himself and his son in despite the fact that they have been evicted from their home and are staying in homeless shelters. Gardner later overcomes his circumstances and becomes a stockbroker, finding his own firm which makes him millions. In real life, Gardner is among the world’s most sought-after motivational speakers. Jaden Smith plays Gardner’s son in The Pursuit of Happyness.
