Foxcatcher (2014)
Drama/thriller Foxcatcher stars Steve Carell as the wealthy investor John E. Du Pont, who invites the wrestler Mark Schultz (portrayed by Channing Tatum) to stay in his estate and form a wrestling team for the 1988 Olympics. Mark agrees since he wants to get out of the shadow of his older brother, Dave (portrayed by Mark Ruffalo). Overall, the story is sad, with Du Pont being a violent fanatic and a deranged heir, and Schultz a naïve athlete. Carell’s performance earned him for an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. The film also won Best Director at Cannes.
