Gorillas In The Mist (1988)

Written by the famed anthropologist Diane Fossey, the book titled “Gorillas in the Mist” is about the life of primatologist Jane Goodall and it is the basis of the movie with the same name. Sigourney Weaver stars as Fossey, one of the most foremost primatologists, and the film tells the story of how Fossey studied great apes alongside Jane Goodall and advocated against poaching of the magnificent and intelligent creatures. With a star like Sigourney Weaver, the movie was unsurprisingly a financial success even though films which have more science and conservation angles do not usually become blockbuster hits. With the help of Warner Bros. Pictures, Universal Pictures produced and distributed the movie which had a box office gross of $61.1 million.
