As cool and trendy as this may seem, take it from the professionals, this is not always the right thing to do. It’s so fundamental to maintain proportion when designing or decorating different rooms in your home. You do not want a small chair next to a huge lamp or a massive sofa in between a tiny coffee table. Below is the perfect example of what we are talking about, you can see how this giant statue looks so out of place next to the small couch and glass side table. This is a definite no-no!

In case it’s not clear just yet, we’ll remind you again that before you head out to buy any furniture, make sure you measure the area of the room first. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking to buy an ottoman, a coffee table, or even a bed, always measure the space to be certain that it will fit. Otherwise, you may regret it later on!
