Scientists introduced the endangered Przewalski’s horse to the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone in the 1990s for conservation purposes, and it’s done about as well as one could want, owing to the lack of human presence there. Because others have been mated with and evolved from feral domestic horse breeds, these animals are regarded as the sole “genuine” wild horse breed.

A Lot Of Red Foxes

These adorable little fellas can be seen all across the Exclusion Zone, and some of them will approach human visitors in the hopes of a feast. They aren’t used to seeing humans, thus they don’t feel as frightened as the red foxes outside the Exclusion Zone.
