When Could People Move Back There
Many Ukrainian people were forced to flee their homes after the Chernobyl incident in 1986, and many scientists believe the area would be uninhabitable for humans for the next 20,000 years. In the meantime, we’ll all have to make do with visiting as tourists.
Silver Linings
The Chernobyl nuclear tragedy was undoubtedly a disaster for humanity, yet there are some silver linings, as you can see. The Exclusion Zone has turned into a valuable wildlife refuge, allowing scientists to study evolution in severe circumstances. It may be ages before people can return to living there safely, but at the very least, something good has come from it!
