Nadya was insistent that she did not want more than one child, and she was clear that she did not want twins, triplets, or even just one child. The results of the in vitro fertilization procedure, on the other hand, came as a total and utter surprise to everyone involved. She found out she was carrying a child in the year 2001, and the following year, in 2002, she gave birth to a boy named Elijah.
