Starting A Tradition

Angie posted a photo of herself wearing her mother’s prom gown, writing, “I think we just started a tradition…” as she awaited her own daughter to wear the same gown. It would be an incredible tradition to carry on if Angie could pass this dress down to her future daughter. And, while we can’t say for sure, we’re willing to bet that this dress will look just as lovely in 30 years as it does now – and as it did back then.

Three Generations, One Gown

The baby pink ballgown has been passed down three generations. It’s pictured in 1962 on the top left, and her two daughters are wearing it to their school dances on the top right and bottom left. Her granddaughter wore it the last time in 2013. The dress appears to have lost some volume over the years, which could be due to long-term storage in a closet or the ultra-fluffy petticoat being tailored out to give the wearer more movement.
