Sarah was instructed by the police to wait in an interrogation room at the station. They may have brought the necklace along to show it to a station expert or to do some testing. It was good that they offered Sarah a drink of water. She felt somewhat less like a criminal as a result.

A female cop entered the room shortly after that. She sat across from Sarah and hesitated before continuing. Sarah, am I correct?She questioned cautiously. Sarah gave a nod. The woman said, “I know this is all very confusing for you.” “Unfortunately, we are unable to provide additional details until we have verified all of the information.”
