Marie peacefully passed away in her sleep the day before Sarah turned 24. She had sensed her days were numbered, so it wasn’t unexpected. She had invited Sarah over for dinner two days prior for this reason. She gave Sarah a tiny jewelry box, but she warned her not to open it before she had passed away.
