It Was There Before
Locals may have been taking advantage of the natural splendor around them long before the rest of the world discovered it. A record of their first visitors or the first domestic admirers has not been documented in any way. There is no doubt that a large number of indigenous communities lived in the area.
French Explorer
There are records in writing saying that the very first person from Europe to hear about Niagara Falls was an explorer from France named Samuel de Champlain. That happened sometime at the beginning of the 17th century. Still, he wasn’t by any means the first person from Europe to go there and visit the Falls.
