On the topic of feeling like you are still carrying your gun, former soldiers can sometimes dream that they somehow lost their gun, though we think this is quite a nightmare. They then wake up. They remember that they don’t have their gun with them anymore.

Phonetic Alphabet
The military phonetic alphabet is something soldiers tend to use when spelling out words. Instead of saying the letter “h”, they will say “hotel” and “bravo” instead of “b”. There might have been soldiers talking next to you, though you didn’t understand what they were saying.
