Soldiers have taught themselves to eat meals really quickly seeing as their post shouldn’t be left for too long, or they are in a war zone and they are in survival mode. Don’t think it would be easy for a former soldier to go back to their eating style pre-army.

“Roger that”, “affirmative” and “negative” are some expressions you may have heard in video games and films. Soldiers actually speak this way and even after discharge, they still speak like this. It’s similar to learning a new language. It is hard to let go once you have learned it.
