Black paint or ‘Boot-Topping’?
Boot-topping and boot paint are basically the same regarding military personnel. Actually, boot-topping is applied between the deck of a boat and its waterline. What’s more, in making it, sulfur or lime is used. Its consistency is thick and liquidy as well. Civilians may never actually notice that boot-topping and black paint are different, but there is no fooling an expert military eye, even if it’s from a mile away.
