Everyone was curious to see how LaRue Martin, the first overall pick in 1972, fared in the NBA. Unfortunately, four years later, his promise had not been achieved. He left the league and proceeded to work as an entry-level employee for UPS to help pay the bills. His patience and hard work were rewarded, which was fortunate. In 2005, he was appointed to Community Services Manager. Aside from his 9-5 job, he also serves on the Board of Directors of the National Basketball Retired Players Association.

When was the last time we saw Chris “Birdman” Andersen on the basketball court? During the 2016-17 season, he was a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. He stated his desire to return one year later!
