Boyd and Harrison immediately become close friends. “Being close to him was exhilarating,” she said in her memoir. ‘Would you marry me?’ he asked almost immediately. ‘He was laughing, yet there was a serious tone to his voice. We met shortly after and married on January 21, 1966, two years later. He was 22 when I was 21. I was overjoyed and in love.”
