That Unforgettable Day
Emily, a young waitress of only 21, had been on the job for only two weeks. She had a shift planned at Red Hook Seafood Bar, a restaurant in San Antonio. She had looked forward to a busy day at the workplace, but then something unexpected happened.

Bauer, being a new hire, was noticeably slower compared to the other wait staff. The restaurant, too, saw a higher-than-average volume of customers that day. Because she was providing poor service to that one customer, she felt compelled to apologize repeatedly to them. He wanted to make a comment.
