Reba’s mother was the person who taught her children about country music. Her passion pushed her to teach them how to sing when they were at a young age. The country music star sang “Away in a Manger” as her first solo performance when she was in first grade Christmas play. She and her family mostly went to their father’s rodeo competition, and the whole family loved to sing during their travel. Later, the children built their reputation and were known as Singing McEntires. Reba frequently performed the national anthem during rodeo competitions. She also sang at the local radio station. After the country singer became a third-grader in their school, the teachers requested that she sang on the graduation day of the high school students.

Later on in her life, Reba was motivated by some female musicians like Tammy Wynette, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, and Loretta Lynn. However, she did not expect that she would exceed them in terms of being successful in their career. Reba became the top female country musician in those days. At that time, the musician was only 16 years old when she brought home the title of Miss Ford Country at the essay competition. Reba earned the privilege to drive a brand new Ford after a few months. The singer also informed her that she traveled for 18,000 miles before she returned the vehicle to the company.
