A Kind Soul
Tom Cruise’s generosity of spirit is almost as impressive as his acting prowess. He went with the woman to the hospital after seeing her get hit by a car in 1996. He paid her hospital cost in full when he realized she had no insurance. While many actors may be happy with their on-screen personas, Cruise has consistently demonstrated a strong desire to assist others off-screen. He even started his own charitable foundation, The One and Only Foundation, which focuses on helping kids with cancer and other illnesses. These deeds of generosity show that Cruise is not only a well-known Hollywood actor, but also a decent person.
A Close Call
Tom Cruise came dangerously close to dying while filming “The Last Samurai,” as a blade was wielded just an inch from his neck. A safety machine malfunction caused this risky incident, which had the potential to cause serious harm or perhaps death. Fortunately, his co-star Sanada reacted quickly and deflected the sword away from Cruise, maybe sparing his life. Even with safety precautions in place, this close call serves as a reminder of the hazards and perils that performers may encounter when executing risky stunts.
