A Love for Motor riding
In Hollywood, Tom Cruise’s passion for motorcycles is widely known. In fact, he frequently rides motorcycles in his movies and pulls off a number of stunts while doing so. His love of bikes dates back to when he was a young child and purchased his first Yamaha motorcycle at the age of ten. He crashed it shortly after, but he wasn’t deterred and kept riding motorcycles. In “Eyes Wide Shut,” he rode around the streets of New York City with his then-wife, Nicole Kidman; he even played a high school football player who raced on his bike in his debut movie, “Endless Love.” Due to his daring tendencies and passion for motorcycles, Cruise has become a favorite among action moviegoers.

It’s true that Cruise was attracted to the Colonel von Stauffenberg character in “Valkyrie” because of how similar they looked physically. It’s important to remember, too, that he also had a lifelong interest in the tale of the German resistance during World War II and was dedicated to conveying it truthfully and with respect. In reality, he and the movie’s director, Bryan Singer, spoke with von Stauffenberg’s family and worked closely with historians to make sure the movie was as historically accurate as possible.
