The Fur Trading Industry
People tend to approve more of faux fur than real fur. Do you think the trapping industry is still operating and profitable right now? Aside from that, are people right to think that trapping needs to be banned for animal rights?
The important thing is that you should know that animals are not hunted only for fur. In fact, almost the entire body is used. I know this sounds crazy but after they sell the fur, the carcass is then used as animal food, bait, and even compost.
Trapping History
There’s a long history in fur trading and trapping. The fur industry started operation in the 1700s. This is when trappers took their catch to the east to earn more money from it.
There is a high demand for different types of furs. And, the west part was full of animals. The problem is, the industry started to go downhill eventually when people overhunted and the animal population started declining.
