Moe’s mother wanted a daughter so badly that she decided to let her son’s hair grow long and curly. Moe was bullied so severely in school that he decided to cut his hair by himself and never go back to his long locks.

Due to his charming naivete and goofy antics, Curly was a crowd favorite from the very beginning. However, his health deteriorated over the years. Probably because he drank too much and ate too much. After struggling with acting in films, he finally had to call it quits in 1946 after suffering a stroke. Before having a second stroke and spending his final years in a wheelchair, he made a brief appearance in one final Stooges film. As the youngest of the Stooges, Jerry “Curly” Howard passed away at the young age of 48.
