Military Service
As per Amish beliefs, they do not serve in the military. This is also true noot just for war, but other roles where violence or aggression can be seen, such as law-enforcement, politics and legal actions. The Amish believe in non-resistance, a term different in meaning to pacifism and states their position perfectly.

The “Ordnung” of an Amish community will demand different rules and regulations depending on the community. Most of the groups forbid Amish from owning vehicles, using electricity from public utility lines, using automatic farm equipment, among other things like using a television or a radio. Photography is also not allowed due to it’s possibility of encouraging vanity; something the Amish disapprove to the highest level.
