Octavia, who was born on March 16, 1964 in Brooklyn, was a model, actress, and activist best recognized for her performance in the moving documentary Paris Is Burning. Before settling on her stage name Octavia Saint Laurent Mizrahi, she legally changed her name to Heavenly Angel Octavia Saint Laurent Manolo Blahnik. While the name is lengthy, it is appropriate given the queen she was. Unfortunately, on May 17, 2009, this performing superstar succumbed to cancer and died.
