Into The Wild (2007)

This movie stars Emile Hirsch as Christopher McCandless, whose wealthy parents seemed to have it all. Actor Sean Penn directs this film, which one publication described as his “most ambitious movie.” Even though McCandless was at the top of the class when he graduated at Emory University, he opted to become a wanderer. After giving his savings to charity and getting rid of his possessions, he went on a journey through the Alaskan wilderness in order to find himself. Based on a true story, this film was nominated for an Academy Award and won Best Feature at the Gotham Independent Awards.
