Sully (2016)

This Clint Eastwood film is another true story which stars Tom Hanks. The actor plays the pilot Sully Sullenberger, who is forced to land on the Hudson River after the plane he is flying (US Airways Flight 1549) accidentally hits geese which destroys the engine. The film is based on the emergency landing that Sullenberger managed to make without any of the crew and 155 passengers dying. Sully also explores how Sully underwent investigation in spite of doing nothing wrong. It had a box office gross $240.8 million.

Remember The Titans (2000)

Denzel Washington’s performance in Remember the Titans remains one of his most celebrated. The film chronicles the true story of how a Black football coach named Herman Boone attempted to coach a high school football team that is newly integrated. For the first time ever, the high schools in Alexandria, Virginia were integrated in 1971. With Boaz Yakin as its director, the film depicts the racism Boone had to face coming from Alexandria residents while he coached his team. The movie won Best Picture at the NAACP Image Awards. Gregory Allen Howard wrote the screenplay.
