The Social Network (2010)
Based on the book “The Accidental Billionaires” by by Ben Mezrich, The Social Network tells the story of how Mark Zuckerberg (portrayed by Jesse Eisenberg) and his college classmates founded the top social networking site Facebook, which has earned Zuckerberg a $69.2 billion net worth. The film also explores the lawsuits which the Winklevoss twins (both portrayed by Armie Hammer) filed against Zuckerberg. They believed that the social media mogul had stolen their idea. Nominated for eight Oscars and winning three, the movie grossed $224.9 million, money that Zuckerberg would perhaps just sneeze at.
Catch Me If You Can (2002)
Con man Frank Abagnale, Jr.’s stranger-than-fiction story inspired this hit Spielberg film starring Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio. Abagnale was an imposter who famously got away with impersonating a lawyer, doctor, and an airline pilot, even before 22 years old. With its universal appeal, the suspenseful romp did extremely well at the box office and made more than $350 million, nearly half of which from international moviegoers. Spielberg’s successful production company, Amblin Entertainment, produced and distributed Catch Me If You Can.
