The Blind Side (2009)
In The Blind Side, Quinton Aaron plays Michael Oher and Sandra Bullock portrays Lee Ann Tuohy. In both real life and the film adaptation, Oher was adopted by Touhy, who helped him see that he had a natural talent for football. With Touhy’s help, Oher managed to achieve his goal of becoming a pro player in the NFL, having been drafted in the first round by the Ravens. Michael Lewis chronicled Oher’s true story in the biography titled, “The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game”, which was the basis of the movie’s screenplay. Bullock won both an Academy Award and Golden Globe for her performance in the film, which had a box office gross of $309.2 million.
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
Queen fans will agree that “Bohemian Rhapsody” is one of the most famous songs of the band. In addition, Bohemian Rhapsody is the title of the Brian Singer-directed biographical drama about Freddie Mercury. Rami Malek stars as Mercury in this movie which depicts the enigmatic lead singer’s struggles with accepting his own sexuality and Queen’s struggle to achieve success in the constantly changing music industry. His performance in the film earned Rami Malek an Academy Award for Best Actor. Aside from this success, this musical feature which was produced and distributed by20th Century Fox went on to gross a whopping $903 million.
