Chaplin (1992)
Robert Downey Jr. stars in the 1992 drama Chaplin, which chronicles the life of Charlie Chaplin. Downey Jr. was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Chaplin and won a London Film Critics’ Circle Award and BAFTA for his performance. The movie follows took a Chaplin through his tough childhood in London and his career in silent movies in America, as well as his other masterpieces. It also chronicles his personal life and turbulent marriages. In 1972, Chaplin received an Honorary Academy Award.

The 2011 movie Soul Surfer Surfer is based on surfer Bethany Hamilton’s autobiography, which includes her experience about losing an arm in a shark attack. The film stars AnnaSophia Robb as Hamilton, while Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt played Hamilton’s parents in the movie. The movie shows Hamilton’s struggle to go back to surfing with only one arm and what her life was like when she discovered a higher purpose. Sean McNamara directed the movie and adapted the screenplay.
