Sarah was holding her grandmother’s antique necklace, a priceless heirloom that had been handed down through the generations, in the dimly lit jewelry store. The jeweler looked at the necklace with widening eyes and a worried expression. Sarah felt a problem and her heart began to race. But she never would have anticipated the jeweler saying this. “I’m sorry, miss, but you’re not supposed to have this.”
Sarah was stunned
Sarah stared at the counter in disbelief. Why wasn’t her grandmother’s necklace supposed to be with her? It had been in her family for how long? “Sorry, but can you explain why exactly?” The appraiser was silent when she asked him that question. There was definitely something wrong with this, but little did she realize that the truth would soon come to light.
