The appraiser said, “I’m sorry, but I have to call someone,” and he took the necklace with him as he left the front of the shop. Sarah just stood there, bewildered and frozen. The necklace should have been snatched back from his hands by her, but everything happened so quickly. Fortunately, she heard what he was saying.
