Jonathan walked back to his car, pausing regularly to check on the dog. Because rain was expected, Jonathan did not want the newborn to become cold or wet. The longer he observed the creature, the more captivated he became. Despite his initial doubts, he was now almost certain that it was not a monkey. What was it then?

The black creature lacked distinguishable features; it was little and obviously a newborn. It appeared strange, but it was too young to understand what it was. This face could only belong to some species of monkey. No alternative explanation was conceivable.
