The comedy world welcomed Mickey Rourke in Diner in 1982. While it was not exactly the most unique movie ever, he did go on to appear in other controversial projects such as Angel Core and 912 Weeks. Those movies might seem pretty mild now, although they were great at cementing him as one of the sex symbols of that era. However, he decided that he was over acting and launched a boxing career in 1991. You see, he once trained to fight when he was a young man. Sadly, this did not last all that long either as he ended up leaving the ring after only three years.

He ended up going back to Hollywood after his short boxing stint. Mickey Rourke only landed small roles. You can say that the actor was typecast to play tough guys in various movies this time around. We are glad that he managed to obtain another big role in 2005. After he starred in Sin City, he went on to deliver an amazing performance in The Wrestler. This role earned him nominations at the BAFTAs, Academy Awards, and Golden Globes. He has gone under the knife many times over the years, which explains why he looks fine for someone who had a boxing career.
