Waiting His Turn
Tom Cruise is a talented actor with a distinguished career in Hollywood. Four of his movies have gotten Best Picture nominations (with one win), and he has worked with nine co-stars who have each received Oscar nods for their roles in movies with him. Cruise himself has not received an Oscar, despite the popularity of his films and co-stars. Nevertheless, many are hopeful that this will soon change due to his unquestionable talent and experience in Hollywood.

A Monkey Friend
Tom Cruise now has more creative flexibility in his assignments because of his experience as an actor. For instance, when playing Stacee Jaxx in “Rock of Ages,” Cruise asked director Adam Shankman for an odd request: a monkey sidekick. Although it may seem odd to include the monkey sidekick, it gave the character an extra layer of flamboyance and excitement, making him even more distinctive. Shankman was pleased to comply, and after viewing the baboon’s audition, Cruise named the character “Hey Man.”
